Widow of slain controversial Muslim cleric Sheikh Aboud Rogo has been arrested by officers from the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) after she was linked to the botched attack at Central Police Station, last Sunday.
Hania Said Sagar was picked from her home in Kikambala area of Kilifi yesterday evening and taken to an undisclosed location for questioning. A senior police officer privy to the ongoing investigations said Hania is suspected to have been part of a terror cell that planned the attack after mobile phones recovered from slain attackers showed she had lengthy conversations with them.
Meanwhile, fresh details have emerged on how the three female terror suspects who were killed in the botched attack planned the onslaught.
The revelations came to light after it emerged that suspected members of ISIS terror cell had visited the police station prior to the attack ostensibly to spy and plan the raid.
Police reports indicate that Saida Ali Haji, one of the three suspects arrested, had visited the police station on Friday where she is alleged to have reported a case of mobile phone theft.
The case was recorded under a pseudo name, Farahana Ali in the Occurrence Book. The suspect claimed unknown people had stolen her Samsung mobile phone at Bondeni area early on Friday morning as she left Mackinnon market.

Saida was arrested alongside two other relatives, Naima Mohamed Ahmed and Shukri Ali Haji. Police say both the slain terrorists and the spy team visited the police station claiming they had come to report theft of their mobile phones.
The information surfaced as it emerged in court that two of the three suspects arrested are deaf. However, sign language interpreter James Mweru told Mombasa Resident Magistrate Emmanuel Mutunga that one of the suspects Shukri Ali Haji was not deaf as claimed.
“Your Honour I’m unable to proceed with the matter since the suspect cannot communicate in sign language,” he said.
Mweru informed the court that the third accused person Saida Ali Haji was deaf, but could not also communicate in sign language. Magistrate Mutunga issued orders to have the suspects undergo the tests and the matter be mentioned on September 21.
