Javier Mascherano Calls It A Day in National Football. The Decision came after their Loss to France at the World Cup.


Javier Alejandro Mascherano is a professional an Argentine footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder and and a center back for Chinese club Hebei in China.
As a young energetic boy, Macherano grasped the eye of Bachelona, who was then playing his trade at Liverpool football club.
At Barcelona, Macsherano together with good number of players with the likes of Leonel Messi, Javier won almost everything with Barcelona.
Back at the national team, Mascherano has been a key player till when he made his decision to retire after their exit from the ongoing world cup.
He addressed the media immediately after the 4 3 loss to France. He had this to say,


"It's time to say goodbye and for the younger players to step in. Javier Mascherano stands dejected at the final whistle in Kazan. "Hopefully in the future these kids can achieve something. Now I'm just one more fan of the national team."

Javier Mascherano, who has played at four World Cups, came to light for Argentina in 2003 and has capped himself  147 times for his country.
