The noose was yesterday tightening on a 29-year-old man who boasted on Facebook of having sex with a Standard Four girl after the police flushed him out of his hiding.
Calvin Mbane Alfayo alias Mohamed Alfayo caused national outrage after he posted a series of pictures of young girls who he said he had slept with on different occasions.
Like a thief, his 40th day had come and soon police launched a manhunt for him as social media users pressed for his arrest under the hashtag #Arrestmohamedalfayo.
It has emerged that the suspect, who recently converted from Christianity to Islam, is a son of a member of Nyamira County Assembly and hails from Borabu constituency. He was arrested by detectives from Sotik police station at his hideout in Chepilat trading centre at the border of Bomet and Nyamira counties.
“My officers have been tracking the suspect immediately after an alarm was raised and at 9pm last night we managed to arrest him and brought him to our station where we are holding him before taking him to court,” said Sotik OCPD Jonathan Ngala on Tuesday.
